Intersect Sunday, a Community Ministry of Breesport Baptist Church
What is Intersect Sunday?
Intersect Sunday is about meeting the practical needs of the people, families, and organizations of our community through free acts of love and kindness.
We live in an increasingly fragmented world where people are more connected electronically than ever before and more disconnected relationally than ever before. We want to connect with those in our community in a physical way and serve the members of the community. Our objective is simple, share the gifts that God has given us to help meet the needs of our neighbors.
Your next step is to fill out a work request. You can call the church and we will get a request form to you or take the information over the phone. You can click the button on this page and fill it out, or print it, fill it out and get it to us by dropping it off at the church, mailing it electronically or physically to us. All requests must be at the church or completed online prior to August 21th. After that, we will be clarifying the requests, planning the projects and building project teams. During that process, we will confirm our ability to do your project with you. You will be responsible for purchasing needed materials such as paint, lumber, fertilizer, etc. as needed to complete the project.
Intersect Sunday will be held on Sunday, September 8th from 10 am—1 pm. People from Breesport Baptist Church will spread over our community to love and serve people and then all are welcome back to the church pavilion at 1 pm for a picnic lunch as we enjoy time together as friends and neighbors.
What happens on September 8th?
Sunday morning, the project teams will meet at the church for prayer and will load up and travel to the projects. They will have a project leader on each team that should identify themselves to you so if you have any concerns about what is happening, you will have a person to go to discuss your concerns.
Once the project is over, the team should clean up after themselves and discuss the status of the project. In some cases, there may be materials left for pick-up the next week by us, or there may be incomplete work which will be completed over the next week or so.
Then everyone is invited back to the church to join in a picnic. We encourage you and your family to come join us.
