OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Operation Christmas Child gift-filled shoeboxes open the door for the Gospel to be shared with children all around the world. After they receive their gifts, they are invited to participate in The Greatest Journey discipleship course where they learn more about the Bible and God's great love for them.
Shoeboxes and additional materials are available in the Welcome Center on Sunday mornings, and must be returned on or before 11/21/21
We ask for a $1 donation for a pre-printed shoebox (you can also use your own), and a $9 donation to cover shipping and other Samaritan's Purse project costs associated with Operation Christmas Child.
HELPFUL HINTS ON HOW TO PACK A SHOEBOX
1 - Find a Shoebox
Start with an average-size cardboard or plastic shoebox. If you want to wrap it, cover the box and lid separately. You can use your own shoeboxes or use colorful preprinted ones, available in our Welcome Center for a donation of $1. These sturdy boxes hold up well and can be lasting gifts in themselves for children to store cherished items.
2 - Get Your Label
Make sure you also pick up a label at the Welcome Center, and use the label to indicate on your shoebox whether it was packed for a boy or girl and which age category: 2–4, 5–9, or 10–14.
3 - Fill with Gifts
Select a medium to large "wow" item such as a soccer ball with pump or stuffed animal, then fill with other fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies. Don’t forget to also include a personal note and photo—sometimes these are the child's favorite things to receive!
Download and print a list of suggested gifts.
4 - Pray
Most importantly, "pray without ceasing" (1 Thess. 5:17) for the child who will receive your shoebox gift.
Please also pray for:
Their family to also be receptive to the Good News of Jesus Christ.
The pastor of the church who delivers your shoebox gift.
Their community to be transformed by the Gospel.
5 - Drop Off
Return your shoebox gift to Breesport Baptist Church on or before Sunday, November 21.
